My client is a 200+ bed, acute care hospital in the Fort Worth area. The hospital has an extremely strong team that is also laid back and fun. They have very low turnover and this position is open because of growth within the location. They offer a wide variety of both In patient and Out patient services to their patients throughout the surrounding communities.

Job Summary:

Cytology technicians prepare body fluids for microscopic examination to diagnose, detect and identify disease. Abnormal results are confirmed by a Pathologist.

Working Hours:

Monday-Friday, dayshift, full-time.

Education/Licensure:

Two year college degree and ASCP registry or equivalent required.

Experience:

One to three years experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for the supervision of all cytology workload. May be required to work with various students from different student programs such as Medical Technology, Nursing, Vocational, etc. Required to train new personnel in cytology.

Our spring meeting is scheduled for May 17, 2013 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center located at

800 Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove Village Il, 60007

Kennedy Conference Center, rooms 2 and 3.
Registration: 6:00 pm, Presentation will begin at 7:00pm

Dr Laverne Mensah MD, Medical Director of Gynecological Oncology for Alexian Brothers Medical Group, will be presenting a talk on the new gyne guidelines.

Dr. Leopold Koss passed away Tuesday, September 11 at his home surrounded by his family. Dr. Koss was one of the
“Founding Fathers” of cytology and was a tremendous force in the ASC as well as the USCAP.

Leopold G. Koss, MD was a native of Poland where he received his primary education. His medical education was repeatedly disrupted by events prior to and during World War II. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Bern, Switzerland in 1946. His adventures during the war years were many but cannot be summarized within this space. His parents and only sister perished during the Holocaust.

The $25 membership fee is due at our fall meeting. This fee will cover both the fall and spring meetings. If you do not wish to become a member, you are still welcome to attend and both will cost $15/meeting.

If you decide to pay $15 for the fall meeting and then decide to attend the spring meeting as well, you will still be charged $15 for the spring meeting and not $10 to add up to the original membership dues. You could still be listed as a member if you paid a $5 late fee.
